Newly inaugurated Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo has announced his first set of appointments, including Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff.
Shortly after being sworn-in on Saturday at the Muhammadu Buhari Mini Stadium in Lokoja, Ododo nominated Folashade Ayoade Arike as SSG, Kingsley Fanwo as Chief Press Secretary, and Ali Bello as Chief of Staff.
Other appointees include Hilary Ojoma as Deputy Chief of Staff, Jerry Omodara as Security Adviser, and Deedat Salami Ozigi as Special Adviser on Media.
Some nominees were retained from the previous administration like Bello and Fanwo who served ex-Governor Yahaya Bello.
Governor Ododo has sent the list of nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening, urging swift action to enable them assume duties immediately.
The new appointments are the first major decisions taken by the governor as he takes charge in Kogi. Analysts believe he aims to hit the ground running by ensuring key offices are promptly filled at the start of his tenure.
